The very recent SAP Banking Summit took place in Istanbul on 10th of June. itelligence Turkey marketing team tried something brand new which hasn’t been done before to boost the booth traffic and the social media interaction during the event.
Generally fortune cookies are served right after meals as a dessert in Chinese restaurants all over the world. Yet, what makes fortune cookies special is the message inside the cookie. Fortunes cookies are crispy and empty inside, and the tiny note sheets inside of them include a phrase and list of lucky numbers. The unfamiliar concept of the fortune cookies triggered the idea of “itellicookie”, and itelligence Turkey got 150 cookies ready on the day of the SAP Banking Summit.
How did we kill two birds with one stone?
In fact “itellicookie” was more than a fortune cookie, it was an integrated social media lottery campaign designed for getting the contact info of the prospects who attended on the event, while boosting the social media and booth traffic at the same time.
The note sheets with the phrases in the itellicookies were also specially designed by itelligence Turkey with SAP Turkey’s collaboration. The phrases were about the real facts and figures of SAP Banking solutions and the keynotes from itelligence Turkey’s Analytics Team’s BI project with Akbank. The phrases were prepared just like a 140 charachter tweet with the hashtag of “#donusumuyakala”, “itelligence” and “sapbankacilikzirvesi”.
During the event, itellicookies were served to the attendees who wanted to participate in the lottery. The prize was 16GB ipad mini for the lucky winner. The prerequisites for participating in the ipad lottery was being a guest attendee (not SAP or other partner employee) and tweeting the phrase their cookie contained. There was also a mini form on the backside of the sheets needed to be filled out by the participants with their contact info. This form is designed for both getting the contact info of the prospect and letting the ones who don´t have a twitter account to participate in the lottery.
At the end of the final presentation of the SAP Banking Summit of 2014, the marketing manager of itelligence Turkey, Banu Sezgin, drew the lot and the lucky name won the 16GB ipad mini.
On June 10th itelligence Turkey’s booth in the SAP Banking Summit was the one and only that never has been left empty by the attendees. The tweets sent by attendees have also proved that it was worth the effort that itelligence Turkey’s marketing team put on the “itellicookie” campaign.
