Happy New Year and Welcome to fascinating IT year 2012! Do you remember what the Maya’s said long time ago about the“year 2012″? Did you know that Alan Touring, one of the most significant Mathematician and theoretical computer scientist of the last decades would become exactly a century old this year?
The evolution of IT is obviously fast, yes, but is this evolution really faster than ever or do we only have to say “the same procedure like every year, James”? .
While watching, yet again, “Dinner for One”, I was thinking about the always funny and wise sentence by Miss Sophie and her funny fellow, Butler James. While watching I came to the conclusion: It is not the same procedure like every year, James. With the latest announcement by SAP, introducing a mature and consolidated Process Orchestration platform based on the NetWeaver 7.3, SAP will improve significantly the “procedure”- we will do process and application integration across heterogeneous and inter-company IT landscapes.
With the latest release of SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration it is now possible to start thinking in orchestrating different services combined with different service provides across the whole SAP and non SAP IT landscape. With the combination of the Business Process Management platform (SAP BPM) and the application integration middleware SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (SAP PI) on a single stack installation, it is now possible to model, design and execute system centric as well as human centric business processes on one integration platform.
In this Post I would like to share with you some insights based on three examples that show the changing procedures and routines in Process Integration and Service Orchestration with the new release of SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration 7.3.
