itelligence Employees Support Local Women in IT Conference

Last Friday, five employees from itelligence participated in the 9th Annual Women in IT Conference in Cincinnati. Elisha Herrmann, Natalie Berry, Sarah Weber, Laura Hurt and Jen Kline volunteered their time as panelists, table mentors and committee members at the daylong event geared toward encouraging high school girls to pursue careers in information technology.  The conference is an opportunity for students to explore the IT career path, spotlighted through keynote speakers, corporate panels, college panels, and a attendee competition that requires participants to propose a real life problem that can be solved through IT, complete with budget and other real-world guidelines.

Elisha Herrmann, a committee member who has been involved with the event for the past five years, assisted in planning this year’s event.  Jen Kline served as the itelligence corporate panel representative answering student questions, and Natalie Berry, Sarah Weber and Laura Hunt all were involved as table mentors for the students.

The event is presented by INTERalliance,  a local Cincinnati group  focused on improving and retaining technology talent in the area, and a handful of corporate and college sponsors including GE, Kroger, Citi, P&G, and University of Cincinnati.  itelligence is proud to have employees who are willing to donate their time and expertise to both Cincinnati community and local youth.  We look forward to supporting this event for many years to come, and hope to remain a role model and corporate leader for students exploring a career in IT.
