Throwback Thursday: the need for speed

As the curtains have closed on the XXII Olympic winter games, we take a look back at the many milestones achieved throughout the last 90 years of these games. On this day in particular (in 1988), Bonnie Blair set the world record for 500m speed skating in a record 39.1 seconds. Since that time, the record broke many times and the speed continues to astound spectators. Like speed skating, technology continues to evolve at a speed that is sometimes hard to believe. At the time of that big skate in ’88, think of where we were with technology: the Netherlands just became the second country to get connected to the Internet. How far we’ve come!

Speedy technological advancements have allowed organizations like itelligence and SAP to exceed customer expectations and deliver exceptional value. Through solutions like SAP HANA, itelligence helps empower businesses with a solution that combines cutting-edge analytical capabilities with high-speed transaction processing. This opens the door to dramatic improvements in the speed of business processes and allows businesses to generate the analytical insights that are essential to ongoing innovation. As itelligence continues to help customers streamline processes and think outside of the box, it does warrant the question: what will businesses look like in another 26 years? What do you think it will look like?
