NTT DATA Business Solutions

itelligence AG at the Hanover Messe 2017

Experts from itelligence will be demonstrating the enormous potential of Industry 4.0 by means of three best-practice scenario models. Specifically, visitors will see developments for SAP® Business Suite, SAP Leonardo solutions and SAP S/4HANA®. According to SAP, the innovative SAP Leonardo portfolio of offerings for the Internet of Things (IoT) helps enable companies to realize a digital transformation of existing end-to-end business processes and to adopt new business models to run digitally.

“The innovative SAP tools are increasingly turning into front-end solutions, thereby contributing significantly to the digitisation of our customers’ business,” explained Norbert Rotter, CEO itelligence AG. “We shall show our visitors how they can use SAP S/4HANA, SAP Leonardo or holographic systems for digital value creation in their company.”

Best Practice #1: SAP BusinessObjects™ Cloud

The fundamental purpose of digitisation and Industry 4.0 is to monetise all of the company’s data. To this end, all data records from all sources need to be available for discussions, processes and decision-making. The aim is to replace conventional ad hoc decisions by decision-making informed by ongoing data analysis in future, where some of the decisions may even be delegated to the systems themselves (key term: Artificial Intelligence). Detailed analysis and visualisation facilitate a continuous “dialogue” with the data. The SAP BusinessObjects Cloud solution provides the technology for reporting, analysis, planning and simulation. At the trade fair, itelligence experts will demonstrate how they can use this technology to create a digital core in the company, which will provide the correct information required at any point in time.

Best Practice #2: Microsoft HoloLens

Microsoft HoloLens is a mixed-reality technology, on which users can build business processes to achieve unprecedented value creation. itelligence will explain how the holographic computers are integrated with SAP Cloud Platform, the SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer application and SAP S/4HANA, and what service models are possible.

Engineers will be given a 3D model of a machine, which they then disassemble step by step using hand gestures. This process of learning about the construction of a machine from a digital model will provide them with a better understanding of the real machine. It will also help them to recognise the causes of defects more quickly so that they can take prompt remedial action.

Best Practice #3: Automated High Rack Storage

itelligence specialists have added sensor equipment to a high rack storage model. They will use the model to explain how a high rack storage system provides data about all ongoing activities and describe the different statuses in detail. The aim is for the “digital high rack storage” system not only to control itself, but to continually optimise itself as well. The system can also exchange data continuously across company boundaries. This allows the manufacturer’s systems, for example, to monitor all the functions and dispatch service engineers to the customer to undertake preventative maintenance and repair tasks.

Expert presentations by itelligence AG during Hannover Messe: 11th German-Japanese Economic Forum

Wolfgang Möller, Global Director Discrete Industry & Internet of Things, itelligence AG, will explain the sea change that the Internet of Things will bring about. The future of industry will entail integrated production facilities, equipment networks, predictive analyses, networked products and services of all kind. itelligence designs future-oriented processes based on the SAP Leonardo IoT portfolio. These start with the sensor, proceed via data integration, data storage and transformation to integration into the process and production landscapes.
