The consulting company Ploetz + Zeller has now been using the SAP Business ByDesign cloud solution for a year: time for a review. When we introduced SAP Business ByDesign one year ago we did not think that it would run so smoothly from the outset. Together with the project team at itelligence we had mapped our key business processes in SAP Business ByDesign in four weeks. We were prompted to do this by the following idea: If we promise our customers excellence in their projects then we must also implement our own processes excellently. This was not possible with isolated solutions and web tools that might have been good for a single task. However, owing to our small headcount we would never have opted for our own SAP installation.
The itelligence team led by Björn Buchholz supported us comprehensively with the launch of SAP Business ByDesign from the definition of task through to implementation and from training to form alignment. Our teams collaborated terrifically here.
We noticed a considerable benefit from the outset — all key figures could suddenly be viewed in a truly transparent and coherent manner. We have calculated that we save 30 days each year that previously had to be spent maintaining and administering our IT. There were of course also some errors occurring in the system but these were immediately rectified together with itelligence so that there cannot really be any mention of technical problems.
However, there are perhaps some things that from today’s perspective we would do differently, albeit not very much: Today we would first release the core module and then gradually add further modules such as the CRM. Wanting to have everything at once can also be a challenge.
