With the analytics training drawing to a conclusion and having enjoyed the ABAP taster sessions during week 3, I decided to look further into the applications side of NTT DATA Business Solutions. Therefore on Monday I started further training on ABAP working for a couple of days with Thinh to bring my core ABAP knowledge up to speed before looking at creating, and automatically emailing smartforms. Smartforms are a type of report which can be used to give an output in various formats and are widely used on client sites.

Continuing to further build upon the car rental system scenario from our initial ABAP training, I was able to incorporate interactive ALVs (ABAP List Views) which allow only available cars to be viewed before being chosen and booked. The next stage was to produce a receipt for the booking using a smartform. This involved passing both variable and tables in and out of the smartform as well as using smartstyles to allow on-branding formatting.
